COASTAL // CREPE

100% COTTON CREPE JERSEY

The Coastal Crepe collection was developed in the Wakayama Prefecture of Japan, a region known for it’s exceptional knitting heritage and superb quality. We located the softest cotton fibers we could find, and yarn-dyed them in our Canton and Ombre Blue pigments. Ultimately knitting these soft twisted yarns into a fabrication that’s uniquely Matiere.


JAPANESE // RAW SILK

VINTAGE RAW SILK + NYLON TERRY

What began as a quest in creating a vintage inspired premium t-shirt, resulted in one of our most desired materials of the season.  This luxurious Raw Silk Terry starts its journey from the Japanese Silkworm.  The Mulberry leaf fed larvae produces the only natural filament fiber in the world.  Combining these fibers with a small percentage of Nylon, we developed a material that offers a multitude of functional benefits including a yarn stronger than cotton, with soft hand and beautiful drape that remains cool in the summer, but insulates warmth when temperatures drop.  Combine that with our hand dip-dye techniques and you quickly come to realize… This might just be your favorite tee.

WATER RESISTANT + BREATHABLE - TISSUE WEIGHT NYLON 

Our tissue weight nylon is woven with micro corrugated mechanical stretch. This capsule is the perfect balance of both form and function. Curated to wear effortlessly and layer subtly with pure comfort through the breathability of the fibers inherent properties.


JAPANESE // ULTRA SLUB

73% COTTON, 25% POLYESTER, 2% POLYURETHANE

Our Japanese Ultra Slub is a visually intriguing combination of plant based and synthetic fibers, which create a textured, soft handed, yet resilient fabrication. The loose-combed cotton, maintains the plants natural qualities as well as adding texture to the fiber throughout the warp threads. When this is woven with high filament polyester fibers, spun around a polyurethane core, the fabric now emanates high and low colors through our fiber reactive over-dye process.
